The Area

The Gilbert School of Motoring principally operates in the Inverurie, Kintore, Kemnay, and Alford areas but I am happy to provide instruction to pupils based in other locations in and around Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire by arrangement.

The Lessons

Lessons generally comprise a one or two hour session. I find that two hours is the ideal lesson time because it will give you time both to learn and practice the manoeuvres that we cover in the lesson. Your lesson can begin from your home address or any other work or school location if that is more convenient. Similarly you can finish your lesson at a convenient destination.

Practice

Whilst it is not essential, I will encourage you to practice as much as possible with your own vehicle if you have one available to you. You will need to find somebody (e.g. Mum or Dad) who is able to accompany you and assist you as you practice your driving skills. Any person with whom you practice will be welcome to accompany you during your lesson if he or she finds sitting in helps them to help you.

Pass Plus

In many ways passing your driving test is the beginning rather than the end of the story. I provide pass plus instruction in which I will help the newly qualified driver to develop their driving skills further. In particular pass plus introduces them to motorway driving, night time driving and driving in adverse weather conditions.

Refresher Courses

Over the years, roads change and become busier, driving styles alter, and (if we are honest) we pick up bad habits. Often even a driver’s confidence may decline. I can provide specifically tailored refresher courses to help you enhance your driving techniques and rebuild your confidence.

I am happy to teach any age group from 17 and above. You may not have succeeded yet but it's never too late to try.
